The Credentialing Hierarchy
- BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) — masters-level, doctoral eligible. Can bill 97151, 97155, all supervision codes.
- BCBA-D (Doctoral) — same billing rights as BCBA
- BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) — bachelors-level under BCBA supervision. Can bill 97153 (with BCBA supervision documented).
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) — 40-hour training. Can bill 97153 (with BCBA supervision documented). Cannot bill 97155.
